Control system upgrade improves cybersecurity and performance at Lianhetech Europe
Working in close partnership with chemical manufacturer Lianhetech Europe, Actemium UK successfully modernised a critical process control system at the company’s Seal Sands facility in Teesside in the United Kingdom. By upgrading an ageing Siemens PCS 7 environment to the latest supported version, Actemium helped improve system resilience, strengthen cybersecurity and futureproof plant operations, all while minimising disruption to production.

Structured cabling and wireless upgrades at Network Rail
Actemium UK has delivered a major structured cabling upgrade, network installation, and wireless network installation at Network Rail's Doncaster Training Centre, supporting the next generation of railway training and skills development across Britain's railway network. Delivered by Actemium's Data Network Solutions team, the project modernised legacy data and network infrastructure across the site, connectivity, resilience and digital learning environments ahead of the facility's launch in October 2025.

Modular switchroom solution for nuclear laboratory upgrade programme
As part of the Sellafield Replacement Analytical Project (RAP) - a major programme to aimed at modernising laboratory facilities critical to nuclear decommissioning - Actemium has designed a custom-built modular switchroom. By shifting construction off-site and supplying a fully integrated, factory-tested solution, the business accelerates deployment, reduces on-site risk, increases programme certainty, and ensures seamless integration in a highly regulated and complex environment.

Actemium has supported the Electrical Distribution Network Upgrade Project (EDNUP) at Sellafield since 2018, working within the Infrastructure Strategic Alliance alongside Arup and Morgan Sindall. Providing SQEP electrical design and technical expertise, the business has modernised critical power infrastructure on site - improving resilience, reducing risk, and ensuring long-term security of supply.

United Utilities Better Rivers programme: automation, process control and monitoring systems for combined sewer overflow
Actemium was appointed by international civil engineering contractor Ward and Burke to deliver three control and automation packages for United Utilities (UU) as part of its £3 billion 'Better Rivers' programme. Across two West Yorkshire sites, the projects focused on Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) screens and detention tanks-critical assets that protect receiving watercourses during heavy rainfall events.
