Harries Automation & Control (HAC) and Switchgear Services (SGS) rebrand to Actemium
Harries Automation and Control (HAC) and Switchgear Services (SGS), two established UK switchgear specialists, have rebranded as Actemium Switchgear Llanelli and Actemium Switchgear Exeter, marking their integration into the Actemium network and strengthening Actemium UK's portfolio of switchgear solutions.
Two reputable UK switchgear businesses, Harries Automation & Control (HAC) and Switchgear Services (SGS), have officially rebranded to Actemium and will now trade as Actemium Switchgear Llanelli and Actemium Switchgear Exeter respectively. This marks the next step in their integration into the Actemium network and further strengthens Actemium UK’s portfolio of high‑performance engineered switchgear, control and instrumentation panel solutions.
Founded in 1984 in Llanelli, South Wales, HAC has built a strong reputation for designing and manufacturing precision engineered low voltage (LV) switchgear for safe, efficient and reliable power distribution. The acquisition of SGS in 2011 expanded its capabilities into bespoke LV assemblies, ATS solutions, maintenance and upgrade projects.
Today, both businesses have a well-established reputation for delivering a comprehensive range of precision engineered LV switchgear, including switchboards up to 6,300 A, power factor correction panels, distribution boards, ATS panels, factory-built assemblies, arc fault detection systems, and generator connection points. Their solutions support key UK sectors, ranging from food and beverage, defence and education to correctional facilities, data centres, and leisure & entertainment. They also maintain strong working relationships with major technology partners including ABB, Schneider Electric, Siemens, Terasaki, Cubic, Eaton and Rayleigh Instruments.
Since their acquisition by VINCI Energies in 2023, HAC and SGS have grown within the wider UK business, which now includes 9 specialist companies delivering power distribution, control and instrumentation panel solutions to many UK and international customers.
In the UK, Actemium – part of the global Actemium network – is recognised as one of the country’s leading providers of electrical, automation and mechanical solutions. With a long‑established track record of engineering excellence and trusted customer partnerships, all panel solutions are designed, assembled and tested in Actemium’s facilities, ensuring the quality, performance and compliance required across a wide range of customer applications and critical national infrastructure.
