Javelot Grain Storage modernisation

Actemium has helped Javelot, a French agri-tech company, modernise grain storage across the UK with smarter, energy-efficient solutions - reducing costs, improving sustainability and protecting grain quality.

Javelot ventilation systems upgrade

Project overview:

The Client and their growing partnership with Actemium

Javelot is a French agri‑tech leader specialising in digital grain storage and logistics. Their cloud‑based platform enables real‑time grain monitoring, reduces losses, and significantly improves energy efficiency. Recognised globally as a trusted partner to cooperatives and commercial grain operators, Javelot delivers a comprehensive inventory management solution that simplifies and optimises post‑harvest storage logistics operations.

The relationship between Javelot and Actemium began in France via the national Grain Club, where both organisations quickly identified strong complementary capabilities: Javelot’s cloud‑driven innovation paired with Actemium’s nationwide electrical and automation engineering expertise and site works.

Following successful collaboration between the businesses in France, Javelot expanded to the United Kingdom in early 2025 and commissioned Actemium UK for local electrical and automation engineering support as their presence grew.

The UK operational challenges

Javelot set out to reduce operational costs and environmental impact for a client by improving the efficiency of grain‑cooling ventilation systems across several UK sites. Achieving this required:

  • Upgrading electrical cabling infrastructure
  • Implementing a new automation solution
  • Maintaining uninterrupted site operations
  • Preserving grain quality throughout the installation

To deliver this effectively, Javelot needed a UK‑based engineering partner with proven capability in electrical and automation systems within the feed, food, and beverage industries. Clear communication, full traceability, and a single‑point project management approach were also critical.

A seamless ventilation system upgrade

Actemium UK worked closely with Javelot’s project team to deliver a seamless modernisation to the silo ventilation system with minimal disruption to operations. The solution included:

  • Installation and modification of electrical cabling to support enhanced system performance
  • Design and build of new control panels enabling remote fan control and advanced diagnostics
  • Integration with Javelot’s digital grain management platform for real‑time monitoring and control
  • Full compliance with industry safety, environmental, and operational standards.

Results and client benefits

Following project delivery, Javelot and their client achieved the following results and benefits:

  • Digitalised grain cooling for improved efficiency and traceability
  • Enhanced operational performance and cost control
  • Reduced environmental impact and improved sustainability
  • Single point of contact for streamlined project delivery
  • Better grain preservation and reduced infestation risk
  • Lower energy use through smarter ventilation control

Future collaboration

Building on the success of these upgrade projects, Actemium UK is now progressing additional UK grain‑storage site enhancements with Javelot.

The strong technical partnership has also supported Javelot’s expansion into the United States, strengthened by the trust and performance demonstrated across both the French and UK markets.

Client testimonial

“Actemium provided a comprehensive, end-to-end setup for our ventilation automation system, efficiently handling all technical, structural, and control aspects with little interference to on-site operations. Their deep knowledge of the grain handling industry’s strict requirements made them a reliable collaborator for precision and performance.”
