Actemium UK powers second ultra-rapid EV hub for Moto CHARGE

Actemium delivers ultra Rapid Charging Hub for Moto CHARGE

Actemium UK has delivered Moto CHARGE’s second ultra-rapid EV hub in Reading, following the handover of the Toddington site in late 2025. Both sites feature three ABB 400 kW chargers, as Actemium continues to support the network’s expansion across the UK.

Actemium UK has delivered Moto CHARGE‘s second ultra-rapid EV hub, further strengthening its role in the rollout of one of the UK’s fastest public charging networks.

The hub, located at Moto Reading Services on the M4 Eastbound, features six bays powered by three ABB 400 kW ultra-rapid chargers, enabling high-speed charging for drivers travelling along one of the UK’s busiest motorway corridors.

The Reading hub follows the successful delivery by Actemium UK of Moto CHARGE’s first 400 kW site at Toddington in late 2025, which also comprises six ultra-rapid charging bays.

Actemium acted as principal contractor for both hubs, delivering a full turnkey solution from feasibility and grid connection through to design, installation, commissioning and handover.

Both projects form part of a wider national partnership between Actemium UK and Moto Hospitality, as Moto accelerates the deployment of the Moto CHARGE network across its UK motorway service estate. The UK’s largest service area operator is developing this network to be among the fastest in the UK, with speeds designed to support next-generation EVs and reduce dwell times for motorway users.

Further Moto CHARGE sites delivered by Actemium UK are already in development, with continued rollout planned throughout 2026 and beyond.

Anthony Willis, Sector Manager at Actemium E-Mobility, said: “We are really pleased to be supporting Moto Hospitality in the rollout of its ultra-rapid charging network.

As a national deployment partner, Actemium UK brings over 15 years’ experience in delivering e-mobility infrastructure, underpinned by strong electrical engineering and automation expertise, with a fully integrated, end-to-end delivery capability. We focus on customer service, safety and effective project management, which ensures consistently high-quality outcomes for our customers.”

With demand for ultra-rapid charging continuing to grow across the strategic road network, the partnership between Actemium UK and Moto is supporting the expansion of reliable, high-performance charging infrastructure at key locations nationwide.
