Actemium brand Kigtek delivers major spirits tank farm integration for Diageo
Actemium, through its specialist automation business Kigtek, has successfully delivered the electrical and automation integration for a major tank farm expansion at Diageo’s flagship packaging and bottling facility in Fife, Scotland - further strengthening Actemium UK’s extensive food and beverage capability across leading global brands and production sites.
Across the UK and internationally, Actemium supports major food and beverage manufacturers – from spirits and brewing to wider FMCG operations – with high-integrity electrical, automation and control solutions designed to enhance capacity, resilience and operational performance in complex, regulated environments.
At Diageo’s Fife site, the project formed part of a strategic infrastructure upgrade to increase storage capacity and improve operational flexibility in response to growing global demand. Kigtek was appointed to deliver full electrical and control system integration for the new multi-product tank farm, integrating 12 new 180m³ storage vats and associated infrastructure into live production operations within a top-tier COMAH-regulated environment.
The turnkey solution encompassed detailed process electrical design, MCC manufacture, advanced control systems, functional safety and software commissioning. More than 30 invasive tie-ins were carefully phased and delivered during scheduled break-in weekends to ensure uninterrupted production. The project also included installation of over 30 kilometres of cabling, 22 new process control panels and integration of more than 200 valves and instruments.
Delivered within a demanding programme from April 2024 to December 2025, the upgrade has expanded storage capacity, improved spirit transfer efficiency and strengthened supply chain resilience – enabling Diageo to meet customer demand while maintaining operational continuity.
With over 16 years of collaboration with Diageo, this latest milestone reinforces Actemium UK’s role as a trusted long-term partner to the food and beverage sector.
