Rail & Underground

Station Modernisation and Enhancement Project (SMEP)
Turnpike Lane is a deep underground station and forms part of the London underground rail network. The SMEP programme aims to bring all LUL stations to modern standards.

Working with Morgan-Sindall, on behalf of Tube Lines, the project included a complete upgrade of all lighting schemes and improvements to station air conditioning, ventilation and pipe work services within the ticket offices, main concourse, escalators and station platforms.

We were also responsible for the installation of new cable management systems for the station’s communication cabling systems

Signal Centre Refurbishment
This was a design and build service for the complete refurbishment of the Signal Centre at Edinburgh Waverley Station.

Working with Morgan-Sindall for ScotRail the project involved the design and installation of all electrical and mechanical building services including an energy saving lighting system, power distribution, fire alarms, CCTV and air conditioning.

Following a strict time schedule the project was completed within budget and the Signal Centre handed back, fully operational and within programme.

Industrial

New Bagging Plant
The new bagging plant at British Gypsum is the largest facility of its kind in Europe and Actemium were awarded contracts for both its M & E and process wiring projects.

The Electrical Services included the installation of mains power distribution, small power, general and emergency lighting, as well as fire alarms, IT and data cabling. The mechanical element comprised of process pipe work and chiller installations.

The process project involved the installation of field wiring, containment, all main motor control centres and remote cabinets.

Providing manpower from its various Business Units, Actemium was able to successfully resource these projects against a highly challenging programme.

Retail

Warehouse Refurbishment
The Lenton Lane facility was taken over by Boots as a temporary distribution warehouse.

Actemium was tasked with upgrading and improving the existing installation to make the building fit for Boots' requirements.

The project included modifications to the power distribution system, installation of small power, alterations and additions to the lighting schemes, and rationalisation of the IT and data systems.

Liaising closely with the client and fit out contractors, good communication was key in ensuring that all work was successfully integrated to enable completion on time against a critical programme.
