Introduction
Food Industry
New Line
Up to 20 Actemium engineers were involved in this project to create a new cake manufacturing facility, under strict hygiene conditions.
Electrical supplies for the cake production lines and refrigeration equipment were installed and commissioned, while the team also designed and installed fire alarm, lighting and emergency lighting systems.
In addition, the contract also included the overhaul and refurbishment of the existing switchgear, as well as inspection and maintenance work on the high voltage system including transformers
Utilities
Maintenance Contract
Western Power Distribution delivers electricity to more than 2.5 million customers in South West England and Wales.
Actemium holds a Service Maintenance Contract for Western Power which is designed to provide immediate response where a supply problem occurs. This can take the form of sub-mains cabling/network repairs and a fixed wiring and equipment test and inspection service.
The service is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and is carried out by a response team of up to 20 engineers covering South and West Wales
Industrial
Steelworks
All the work carried out for Celsa is within the company’s rod and bar mill.
It is a high risk environment which means that engineers have to undergo CCNG Passport to Safety training, as well as training in first aid and enhanced awareness in steel plants.
We have a team of up to 12 engineers providing the specialist electrical services that keep the plant in full productivity. These include regular planned and preventative maintenance, fault diagnostics and installation projects all backed up with a 24/7 call out facility for emergency fault repair.
Local Authorities
Reactive Maintenance
These are separate contracts with two different councils, but both based around the 'National Schedule of Rates' approach.
In each case we are responsible for reactive electrical breakdowns for various buildings controlled by each council, such as schools, retirement homes or council buildings
Via our help desk, work requests are received, prioritised and engineers appointed to respond. Typical call outs include internal or external lighting repairs, power repairs and small installations. Each job is given a priority rating of 2 hours, 4 hours, 24 hours or 5 days. Response times are strictly adhered to and form a critical part of our KPI benchmarking.
Safety Testing
A successful tender for this ongoing contract allows Lee Beesley to provide all Portable Appliance Testing and Fixed Wire Testing, along with relevant documentation, for numerous Council Buildings
The full project also includes the rectification of defects highlighted during test, to ensure that safety standards are kept to the highest level.
Much of the work undertaken is in occupied schools and offices, therefore minimal disruption to pupils and staff is critical, with stringent health and safety procedures in place at all times.
A team of up to 12 skilled engineers, all carrying CRB clearance, support the contract on a daily basis.
Building Complexes
Fire Alarm System
The Welsh Assembly is responsible for governing many aspects of Welsh life. The CP2 building itself is a hub of activity, but protected within a very secure environment.
Over a 12-week project, a team of Actemium engineers installed and commissioned an analogue addressable fire alarm system for the fifth floor of the Assembly Building. Because of the nature and sensitivity of the building, all work was carried out in accordance with exacting design and installation specifications, and under strict security control, with all personnel being subject to stringent checks before being given clearance to work on site.
